Preamble

We are committed to protecting your data and adhere to the applicable data protection laws. With this data protection declaration, we comply with our information obligations under Art. 12 ff. Datenschutzgrundverordnung (hereinafter "DSGVO") and give you an overview on how we handle your personal data (hereinafter "Data") on our website. This data is only collected within the framework of our Internet presence to the extent that is technically necessary and is never sold or passed on to third parties for unjustified reasons.

Collection/Storage of data and the nature and purpose of their use

1. When visiting our website

a) Use of log-files

As soon as you call up our website at the address www.bundesverbandinternetmedizin.de via the browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari etc.) of the terminal device you use (e.g. desktop, smartphone etc.), this automatically sends certain data to the server of our website and stores them there temporarily, i.e. for a limited period of time, in a so-called log file.

  • the IP-address of your terminal device,
  • the date and time of your access,
  • the name and URL of the retrieved file or page,
  • the website from which access is made (so-called referrer URL),
  • the browser you use and
  • if applicable, the operating system of the terminal device used by you.

This data is required by us to ensure a smooth connection and a comfortable use of our website. Furthermore, this data is used to evaluate system security and stability as well as for other administrative purposes.

We base the legality of this data processing on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.f DSGVO. The "legitimate interest" required for this follows from the above-mentioned purposes. Under no circumstances, however, will the data collected be used to draw conclusions about your person.

b) Use of Cookies

So-called cookies are used on our website. These are small text files which are automatically saved by the browser you use and stored on your respective terminal device. Cookies contain neither viruses, Trojans nor other malicious software and can therefore not cause any damage on your terminal device. The cookies we use are either so-called "session cookies" or temporary cookies.

  • "Session cookies" enable us to recognise that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These cookies are automatically deleted after your visit to our website has ended.
  • Temporary cookies enable us to recognise that you have visited our website in the past and which entries or settings you have made in this connection so that you do not have to enter them again. These cookies are only deleted from your terminal device after a specified period of time which cannot be determined by us.

Cookies are automatically accepted by most browsers. If you do not wish cookies to be stored, you can restrict or completely deactivate this function in the settings of your browser. Please note, however, that the complete deactivation of cookies may mean that you will not be able to use all the functions offered by our website to their full extent.

We base the legality of this data processing on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.f DSGVO. The "legitimate interest" required for this follows from our desire to adapt our website to your needs in the best possible way and to optimise our offer for you. Under no circumstances, however, will the data collected be used to draw conclusions about your person.

c) Use of Google Webfonts

Google Web Fonts are used on our website. This is a service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA hereinafter "Google"), which enables the integration of various web fonts (fonts) on websites. This requires data to be transferred to a Google server in the USA. Transferred are

  • the IP address of your terminal device,
  • the date and time of your access, the name and the URL of the retrieved data or page, the website from which access is made (so-called referrer URL),
  • the browser you use and
  • if applicable the operating system of the terminal device used by you.

You can find more detailed information in Google's data protection information.

2. When using our contact-form

As part of our online offer we offer you the possibility to communicate with us via a contact form. This requires data to be transferred to the server of our website's website. Transferred are

  • your name
  • your e-mail-address
  • the reference of your message and
  • the content of your message

This data is required by us in order to process your request.

We base the legality of this data processing on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit.a DSGVO. You give your consent by placing a tick in the appropriate check-box before sending your enquiry to confirm that you agree to data processing in accordance with our data protection regulations. Under no circumstances, however, will the data collected be used to draw conclusions about your person.

3. When subscribing to our newsletter

We only send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications containing advertising information ("newsletters") if you have expressly consented to this in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 S.1 lit. a DSGVO or if legal permission has been granted.

The registration for our newsletter via a corresponding input field on our website is carried out in the so-called double opt-in procedure. As a result, you will receive an e-mail after registration in which you are asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary in order to prevent abusive registration using a foreign e-mail address. Newsletter registrations are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time as well as the storage of the IP address. Changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.

Newsletters are sent via "MailChimp", a newsletter mailing platform of the Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ace NE #5000, Atlanta GA, 30308, USA. The e-mail addresses of the recipients of our newsletters as well as other data described in this notice are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. On behalf of the person responsible for this website, MailChimp will use this information to send and evaluate the newsletters. Furthermore, MailChimp may use this data according to its own information to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. for technical optimisation of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletters or for economic purposes to determine from which countries the recipients of the newsletters come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of the recipients of our newsletters to write to them itself or pass them on to third parties. We trust in the reliability of the IT- and data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement "Privacy Shield" and is therefore committed to comply with the EU data protection regulations. You can view the data protection regulations of MailChimp here. To subscribe to our newsletter it is sufficient to enter your e-mail address. Optionally we ask you to enter your first and last name. This information is only used to personalize the newsletter.

The newsletters contain a so-called "web-beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file which is retrieved from the server of MailChimp when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the web browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval are collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target group and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined by means of the IP address) or the access times. Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be allocated to the individual recipients of the newsletter. However, it is neither our nor MailChimp's intention to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us rather to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adjust our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users. There are cases in which we direct the recipients of the newsletters to the website of MailChimp; e.g. our newsletters contain a link with which the recipients can retrieve the newsletters online (e.g. in case of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, the recipients of our newsletters can correct their data, e.g. the e-mail address, afterwards. Likewise the privacy policy of Mailchimp is only available on their website. In this context we would like to point out that on the website of MailChimp cookies are used and therefore personal data is processed by MailChimp, its partners and service providers (e.g. Google Analytics). The person responsible for this website has no influence on this data collection. Further information can be found in the privacy policy of MailChimp. We would also like to point out that you have the right to object to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices (for the European area). You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. withdraw your consent. Your consent to the sending of the newsletter via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will then expire. A separate cancellation of the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical analysis is unfortunately not possible. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. You can also cancel the newsletter by sending an e-mail to i.vorberg@bundesverbandinternetmedizin.de.
